The ideal candidates will have experience in state accounting which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.

We are hiring for multiple positions within the Leave and Care Division (LCD) Finance team.
You may be assigned to the LCD Treasurer’s office with responsibilities in managing the Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) and Long-Term Services & Supports (LTSS) funds, cash management, and associated accounting and reporting activities of the unit.
This includes making timely deposits, receiving premium payments, and processing claimant benefits and employer premiums.
These financial activities include a multitude of complex banking and trust management functions that encompass hundreds of millions of dollars of activity per year.
Assisting in providing management of state accounting functions for all LCD Treasury financial activities and state reporting as prescribed by statute.
Or you may support the LTSS Research & Analysis Team by providing financial analysis and reconciliation of employer premium accounts utilizing the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and AFRS accounting information systems to perform specialized accounting functions in the underlying General Ledger and Accounts Receivable modules.
These activities support the accurate and timely fund and account reporting required by partner state agencies and statute.
These positions are full-time/permanent with flexible schedule options that include working one to two days per month in the office.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES You will reconcile various types of accounting transactions occurring during the month and the preparation and uploading of state financial system entries to accurately reflect these transactions.
You may be assigned to assist with assuring adherence to LTSS financial policies and procedures issued by ESD and agency partners (DSHS, HCA, and OFM).
Some of what you may do: Analyze and prepare financial transaction corrections, process and complete monthly financial transactions.
Perform accounting activities in an accounts payable or receivable system, upload monthly financial data into the state’s accounting system.
Record interagency receivables in the state accounting system for WA state agency LCD payments.
Complete state accounting system transactions for LCD warrant cancellations and overpayments.
Perform reviews to ensure accuracy of fund requests, analyze ledgers and make corrections, identify potential financial problem areas and alternative methods.
Perform specialized accounting activities in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 general ledger, accounts receivable, and financial reporting systems.
Upload associated financial data to state’s accounting system (AFRS).
Research, analyze, and reconciles account activity and balances and perform corrections to employer accounts.
Perform complex financial analysis, identify potential financial problem areas and develop correction plans as necessary.
Research, create accounting adjustments, and resolve suspense account transactions in a timely manner.
