Gambling Commission Career Opportunity The Gambling Commission’s Business and Financial Services (BFS) team is looking for someone to fill the role of revenue and payables technician.
Our ideal team member will be analytical, customer focused, and adaptable and flexible to changing business needs.
BFS provides support for agency priorities through quality financial and operational management including budgeting, contracting, grant management, fiscal monitoring, purchasing, and accounting services.
Additionally, BFS is responsible for ensuring financial compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
The revenue technician reports to the to the BFS Supervisor and supports the agency mission by providing financial-related support to BFS in areas such as payment receipting, payables processing, fiscal data entry, and records maintenance.

Duties As the agency’s revenue and payables technician, you’ll review and process vendor payments, process agency receipts, prepare the daily deposit, manage rejected payments, issue refunds, and serve as the primary contact for customer payment questions.
Some of what you will do: Under the supervision of the BFS supervisor, review and process vendor payment requests, including receipt of goods and services.
Receipt and enter all cash and check payments into the in-house revenue system.
Manage rejected payments, including replacement payments.
Review and process refund requests to ensure completeness and accuracy of requests.
Review daily in-process reports; investigate and correct out of balance errors as appropriate.
Enter fiscal-related documents and information into applicable systems while analyzing for accuracy.
Process incoming mail and deliveries; mail out checks; and Escort visitors, ensure adequate office supplies are stocked, submit order requests, and provide support to other BFS team members as needed.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalency AND Eighteen months of full-time (40 hours a week or equivalent*) fiscal-related experience** OR any combination of full-time (40 hours a week or equivalent*) fiscal-related experience AND 200 series or higher courses of accounting, auditing, or budgeting with a 2.
0 or better grade that is equal to 18 months experience.
Three quarterly courses or two semester courses are equal to 1 year of fiscal-related experience.
*Equivalent Fiscal Work Experience Examples: ** fiscal-related means work duties involving financial recordkeeping or transactions.
Examples include, but are not limited to, cashiering or money-handling duties, payroll processing, accounts receivable, or accounts payable.

If this experience is fiscal-related, it can be concurrent with the required experience listed above.
Six months experience with state systems such as AFRS and TM$.
Experience explaining rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures to staff and managers.
