Description DSHS ALTSA Senior Budget/Forecast Analyst - In Training Join our team at the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA) as a Senior Budget/Forecast Analyst.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and compliant budgeting for the ALTS Administration, supporting the organization's mission, and advancing policy priorities.
As an expert-level budget analyst, your responsibilities will involve providing expert consultation and support to budget/forecast managers, program managers, administrators, and division directors.
Together, we will collaboratively develop, analyze, and monitor the $8.
6 billion budget allocated by the Legislature for ALTSA.
Your expertise in financial and caseload modeling will be instrumental in shaping ALTSA budgetary decisions.
You will serve as a subject matter expert within the budget/forecast unit, creating, monitoring, and reporting on various financial aspects such as allotments, fiscal notes, bill analysis, monthly budget status reports, and projections.
Additionally, you will actively participate in the preparation of biennial and supplemental budget request.

We invite you to join us on our mission to Transform Lives! Some of what you'll do: Independently reviews, monitors, and analyzes budget allotment and expenditure data to ensure the effective and efficient use of legislatively appropriated funds.
Create and maintain sensitive and confidential staffing plans for assigned programs Analyze and solve complex problems for assigned programs Prepare and present caseload, forecasts, and cost estimates Create allotments and monitor revenue and expenditure projections for fee-based programs and provisos.
Compile, analyzes, and interprets complex resource issues data from automated or manual fiscal reports.
Assist with preparing the biennial and supplemental budget, including decision packages and allotments for the ALTSA administration.
Who should apply? Budget Analyst 4 Highschool Diploma/GED and minimum of three years of budget experience with increasing levels of responsibility or similar analytical experience such as auditing, accounting, legal or another analytical field Budget Analyst 3 Highschool Diploma/GED and minimum of two years of budget experience with increasing levels of responsibility or similar analytical experience such as auditing, accounting, legal or another analytical field Budget Analyst 2 Highschool Diploma/GED and minimum of one years of budget experience with increasing levels of responsibility or similar analytical experience such as auditing, accounting, legal or another analytical field Experience is the difference between qualifications at each level and evaluated by the hiring team.
Starting salary depends on your qualifications.
What we're looking for: Knowledge of budget and accounting principles sufficient to prepare detailed financial and budget analyses to address a variety of issues.
Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization Willingness to adapt and maintain a positive attitude in all situations, even under pressure Meticulousness and a strong focus on accuracy in paying attention to details.
Proficient and experienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and financial reporting systems.
