Part Time Controller The position of financial controller involves managing financial departments of a company.
These departments can include the accounting department, budget department, audit department, and any other finance-related departments.
Financial controllers have many responsibilities, such as producing critical financial reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial prospectuses.
They must also prepare reports that predict the financial performance of a company over time.
Any paperwork that needs to be done for federal and state regulatory agencies is completed and submitted by the financial controller.
Job Description • Preparation of work papers supporting annual tax returns and all entries into the financial records.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual corporate and property tax returns with outside CPA firm.
• Strict adherence to company coding policy to ensure accuracy of all data.
• Review and recording of journal entries required to reflect monthly activity.
• Monitor data entry systems and procedures.
• Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly closing process and month end balances.
• Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
• Reconciliation of general ledgers and bank statements.
• Timely preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes for properties.
• Preparation of the year to date and monthly cash flow.
• Effectively manage cash balances in all operating and trust accounts.
• Assist with the billing of property management, maintenance, acquisition, commission, disposition, financing and other fees in accordance with the respective agreements.
• Assist with the billing and collection of reimbursements from tenants.
• Supervision of all accounts payable processed, individual property payables and any allocation of costs incurred by multiple entities.
• Compliance with all laws and regulations related to the onboarding of new employees, i.
e.
, I-9/W-2 forms, DSHS notification, etc.
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
• Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
• Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective.
• Supervise the preparation of monthly draw requests to lenders and owners to insure completeness and accuracy.
• Management of cash for multiple companies.
• Someone who is doing and/or has extensively done double entry bookkeeping/accounting • Handle multiple phone lines and inbound calls.

Physical Demands: Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Employee will be regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands; talk and hear.

Employee will be required to work at a personal computer and talk on the phone for extended periods of time.
Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
