* South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates to fill a Food Service Worker position at our Student Life Coffee Shop.
As a member of the Student Life Coffee Shop staff, you will perform customer service and clerical support to café operations and Student Life programs.

What You'll Do Provide customer service and clerical support for the SPSCC Café operations programs Provide staffing duties to the Coffee Shop and act as a customer service representative to greet and provide direct service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Provide support to staffing operations in recruitment, hiring, and training of student employees; will assist with supervision of hourly staff.
Will serve as lead to the Coffee Shop in the Café Manager’s absence.
Support partnerships with Student Life, Personal Support Center, instructional culinary programs, and campus departments to develop and sustain food and beverage options for vulnerable student populations.
Assist with daily cash tasks to include the POS system, tills, change counts, deposits, and other fiscal operations tasks.
Exhibit exceptional communication skills and customer service skills including the ability to work efficiently, adjust to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Respond appropriately and timely to questions regarding coffee shop processes, purchasing, and service provided by the coffee shop.
Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Coffee Shop to include daily food preparation, opening and closing tasks.
Assist with inventory tracking and management system including monthly inventory processes and budget tracking as needed.
Provide customer service and operational support for the SPSCC Concession Stand Provide staffing duties to the Concession Stand at home Athletic contests or other special events and act as a customer service representative to greet and provide direct service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Assist with concession stand inventory, stocking supplies, and ensuring resources are prepared and available for concession operations.
Assist with ensuring POS system operations and transactions are completed accurately at the concession stand.
Serve as support staff to the Student Engagement team Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact and support resource for students on behalf of the Coffee Shop and Student Life programs.
Assist in the implementation of Student Life and campus engagement programs via the Coffee Shop.
Work as a team member on a wide variety of tasks and projects to support the Café operations.
Demonstrate commitment to the college’s diversity goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Possess Knowledge of: kitchen and dining room work; personal hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping practices; operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
Ability to: learn routines involved in preparing and serving food; maintain sanitary conditions; follow written and oral instructions.
Minimum Qualifications Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit.
