Description The Department of Revenue Information Services (IS) division currently has a unique and amazing opportunity for an IT Security - Senior/Specialist in Tumwater, WA.
This Cybersecurity Supervisor will be focused on coordinating IS Security staff’s day to day operations and promotes the Department of Revenue’s mission by advocating for security initiatives, help to mature existing practices, while referencing the IS Security Program and roadmap.

Duties This position reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and contributes to the mission of the organization by detecting, assessing, and mitigating threats and vulnerabilities to DOR's enterprise systems used by agency staff and external customers to sustain public trust in the agency's information system.
The Cybersecurity Supervisor will focus on IS Security staff’s day to day operations including evaluating staff performance, reviewing employee schedules and leave requests, assigning operations and work tasks, coordinating existing software procurement renewals, coordinating purchase of new security tools, and policy/procedure review and recommendations.
Some specific responsibilities of the CyberSecurity Supervisor are: Serving as a Supervisor for the Department of Revenue in the specialty area of Information Technology Security.
Leading security resources to IS security operations and project tasks, ensuring assignments are completed on time.
Working closely with Security Operations to identify incidents through proactive monitoring.
Providing status reports to the CISO and CIO/Deputy CIO during significant security incidents.
Coordinating scheduling, recommending approval of staff schedules to the CISO, approving leave requests, and resolving resource conflicts.
Responding and coordinating incident response for significant security events (incident notifications may occur outside normal business hours and on weekends and holidays).
Leading post-incident discussions to refine and improving the agency incident response program.
Coordinating annual security software and license renewals, new security technology acquisitions, major end of life dates for releases, and tracking budget projections.
Leading, and assigning resources for periodic regulatory assessments and internal audit exercises.
Filling in for CISO role if acting CISO is unavailable.
The top candidate for this opportunity will be highly ethical, with proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate with varied audiences and demonstrate strong analytical skills, in addition to the following qualifications: Qualifications Please ensure that your work experience and letter of interest address the following: An Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.
S.
Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a foreign equivalent.
Two years documented experience in a supervisory position within Information Systems, and three additional years working specifically in an IT/IS Security role.
A professional security certification, such as CISSP, CISM, or Security leadership, from a non-vendor specific industry recognized organization such as ISC2, ISACA, or the SANS institute.
Knowledge of standard security frameworks such as NIST, Federal regulatory compliance, and Incident Response Plans.
Please note: Experience may be substituted, year for year for the education requirement.
