*Overview:*
This consultant working as a Senior Level Technology Services Project Manager is responsible for planning, initiating, managing, and delivering IT projects, including large, major enterprise projects that are vital to WSDOT program delivery and impact various business units throughout the state.
*Expectations include:*
* Day to day Interaction with senior and midlevel managers of WSDOT business units, project stakeholders and consultants.
* Lead and motivate the project team in a positive manner.
* Excellent written communication skills will be essential for documentation of the project, as well as in communicating various issues and meeting the customer’s expectations.
* Excellent verbal communications skills and clear, logical thought processes are essential to effectively lead a diverse team of IT professionals and non-technically oriented customers.
* Maintaining open channels of communication between project teams, Subject Matter Experts, Stakeholders, and management.
* Working with the business stakeholders, fulfill the business needs with the systems integration and implementation effort.
* Using business requirements, leading the team in the definition and documentation of system functional specifications.
* Coordinating system requirements documentation.
* Organizing and coordinating the participation of user groups and other project support staff.
* Establishing user interest, support, and acceptance for the project.
* Soliciting the involvement of the stakeholders and other users in the creation and review of project deliverables.
* Creating the required project documentation as specified by the Technology Services Division ETPMO.
* Updating and maintaining the project work breakdown structure, requirements matrix and stakeholder matrices.
* Updating and maintaining the project issues log, risk log, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
* Updating and maintaining detailed project work plans using the standard IT project management tools (Sparx Enterprise Architect, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office).
* Updating and maintaining project Work Breakdown Structures, resource plans, work schedules and budgets.
* Updating and maintaining project change control and issue/risk resolution processes and logs.
* Identifying, documenting, and evangelizing any changes to the project scope, schedule, or budget.
* Coordinating system Organization Change Management.
* Coordinating and overseeing the creation and implementation of required system training.
*Location:*
The position allows for remote work from your home for most all of the effort.
Some occasional work will be required in the office in Seattle WA.
*Mandatory Skills:*
The Senior Level Technology Services Project Manager must have a current, valid, Project Management Professional certificate issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Senior Level of experience, (minimum of seven years), as a Lead Project Manager in enterprise, large-scale, software application, implementation, and integration projects Senior Level, (minimum of seven years), of direct, personal, experience in the creation and maintenance of IT project PMBOK documentation deliverables Senior Level of experience, (minimum of seven years), in estimating IT project task durations, costs and levels of effort Senior Level of knowledge of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards and guidelines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Senior PM Level of experience in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, including Visio.
*Additional Desired Skills:*
Prior IT Project Management experience under oversight of WA State Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) IT standards, policies, and guidelines Prior IT Project Management experience with WSDOT projects Prior experience in the creation of State of Washington Request For Information (RFI), Request For Proposal (RFP), and Request For Quotation (RFQ) solicitations Experience in implementing Cloud-hosted business process migration in Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations utilizing in Google, Amazon or Microsoft cloud hosting technologies.
