*About us* Capitol Campus Child Care Center has qualified staff who serve children 6 weeks to 6 years of age in a warm, individualized, and positive environment.
We are licensed for 87 children by the State of Washington Department of Children, Youth and Family Services.
We follow CDC, Washington DOH, and WAC health and safety protocols.
In 2009, the center was relocated from the grounds of the State Capitol to the westside of Olympia.
Our program is designated for State employees and their families, and for children subsidized by DCYF.
The center is operated by 5Cs Child Care Centers through a contract with the Parent Board (Parents of CCCCC Foundation).
We have six separate classrooms and three separate playgrounds to provide developmentally appropriate activities for each child to learn and grow to their fullest potential.
Our curriculum emphasizes the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth and development within each child.
Title: Lead Teacher Reports to: Center Director/Assistant Director *Position Summary* Responsible for helping and implementing a program of activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in the assigned age group to accordance to the requirements of licensing and early achievers.
*Qualifications:* · Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff.
· Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, licensing requirements and early achiever’s standards.
(ECRS and CLASS) · Demonstrate success in working as a team member.
· Be 18 years of age or older.
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Completed the 30 hours Child Care Basics · Initial Certificate · Short Certificate · OR have a CDA, an AA in Early Childhood Education, a BA in ECE or equivalent · One year of experience working with young children.
· Possess and maintain a current Red cross Standard First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate · Complete a WA Criminal Background Check · Documentation of Tuberculin-free condition · MMR verification · Food Handler Permit · Complete training for administer medications to children · Complete continuing education requirement of 10 STARS hours yearly · Other WAC 110-300-100 requirements *Responsibilities and Duties:* · Work with the staff in managing the day-to-day supervision of an assigned age group · Supervise and implement developmentally appropriate activities which are consistent with the program goals and objectives · Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline and meet the individual‘s cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and interest.
· Confer with the director/program supervisor and assistant teacher regarding the development and program of individual children.
· Prepare yearly curriculum themes.
· Prepare, write, and plan the monthly overview of the curriculum; post the overview the 1st day of each month.
· Prepare, write, plan and coordinate with the assistant teacher weekly lesson plans; post the plans in the classroom lesson plan notebook.
· Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
· Help with and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guess, other experiential activities and guide children in learning from these activities.
· Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
· Prepare for arriving children to the center environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and select activities of interest to them.
· Prepare for children going home, have the children’s faces and hands clean and state one positive thing the child did that day to the parent.
· Organize and label materials, and display children’s work in a manner appropriate for their ages and skills.
· Be responsible for a safe, well-organized, attractive décor and learning environment for the classroom.
Inspect the indoor and outdoor environment and equipment to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.
· Observe children on a daily basis to detect any health problems · Communicate with parents on a daily basis.
· Attend and participate in all staff meetings and in-service trainings provided at the center · Provide day-to-day supervision and support to teacher assistants and floaters which include sharing daily program plans.
· Maintain appropriate forms, records, and reports as required and requested.
· Serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
· Role model proper eating habits and personal hygiene.
· Maintain facility in a safe and satisfactory condition.
· Keep abreast of current knowledge in the field of early childhood education.
· Assist in housekeeping tasks throughout the facility.
· Perform laundry tasks.
· Perform other duties as requested.
*Physical Capabilities:* · Be able to lift 25 – 30 lbs.
Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on the floor, and see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.
00 - $22.
