The Southwest Washington Growers Cooperative is committed to upholding a strong mission, focusing on member engagement, and operating in an efficient and transparent manner.
The Southwest Washington Food Hub operates as part of the Cooperative and offers aggregation, distribution, and marketing services to its members.
The Food Hub operates out of a warehouse located in Chehalis WA.
Currently, the hub’s activities include distributing locally grown food direct to consumers, school districts, food banks in Thurston, Lewis, Pierce, Grays Harbor, Mason and Pacific Counties.
*Position Overview:* This is a part-time hourly position, 20 hrs/week.
This position will work remotely with some in-person work needed.
Some evening and/or weekend hours and local/regional travel will be required for meetings.
Travel expenses are reimbursed at the federal rate.
The Sales and Marketing Coordinator is supervised by the Southwest Washington Food Hub Manager.
*Job Duties: *
*Sales *
* Maintain existing drop sites and establish new drop sites for box programs
* Create and implement customer outreach strategy for box and workplace wellness programs
* Identify and attract new wholesale accounts to include school districts, restaurants and institutions
* Maintain customer database and manage customer journey for existing accounts
* Manage customer service for ongoing programs
* Utilize online sales platform to manage accounts
*Marketing*
* Provide feedback on brand identities for the hub and its programs
* Manage, create, and maintain the Food Hub’s social media accounts, newsletter and website; including photograph/pictures for sites
* Create and maintain/distribute marketing materials to partner and prospective partner businesses
*Other*
* During off seasons, work with the Technical Advisory Team to Identify and pursue grant opportunities
* Participate in meetings and backup support with warehouse needs as requested
The Sales and Marketing Manager must understand the social and cultural qualities of our region and its food system, have a strong sense of demand, and sales potential, and possess the following:
*Qualifications*
* Passion for food and agriculture, and a belief in the importance of a vibrant local food system
* Relevant experience in the commodities/food/agricultural industry
* Proficient with basic software and technology (MS Office Suite, Google Drive, QuickBooks, smart phones, graphic design, social media sites)
* Experience working with online sales platform/s and/or able to learn new systems and software preferred
* Alignment with cooperative values and structure and the ability to work in a cooperative manner
* Experience working with board of directors preferred
* Relevant sales experience preferred
* A working knowledge to all scales of SW WA agriculture, and an appreciation of diverse production practices
* The ability for problem-solving that respects both the opinions of others, and the need to operate effectively
* Help fulfill the SW WA Food Hub’s mission
* Support the Board and the membership in achieving goals and in developing a functional and dynamic enterprise that serves the region’s agricultural producers
