I am selling my Sieg X2D milling machine / mini mill that I have converted to CNC.
The mill is brand new.
I bought it specifically to convert to Computer Control.
The X2D has the larger table and a solid mounted column for better rigidity.
It is similar in style to the Grizzly mini mill or the Harbor Freight mini mill - the difference is my mill has the larger table (work area) and the non-tilting column.
I upgraded the drive system from 2 speed gears to a 2 speed belt system for quieter operation and higher speeds in either speed range.
I also added a 2" riser block to the column for more Z Axis travel.
It has a larger table and a fixed column that doesn't tilt which gives it a lot more rigidity.
It has an R8 spindle which uses readily available tooling.
I machined all the pieces from 6061 Aluminum using the Heavy Metal/CNC Fusion CNC Conversion Kit as the model to copy.
The electronics are from Sainsmart - CNC 4-Axis Kit with ST-4045 Motor Driver, USB Controller Card, Nema 23 Stepper Motors and 36V Power Supply.
The USB Controller Card lets you use any Windows computer or laptop with a USB port.
I clearanced the center section of the base which allows for more Y Axis travel.
Table travel dimensions are X - 12", Y - 5.
875, Z - 11".
The whole thing is controlled by Mach3.
The package comes with everything the mill came with new.
It will also include a computer (no monitor) to run the machine with a trial version of Mach3 (a full license is $175 from ArtSoft).
The machine is new as are all the components I used to convert to CNC, ready to start working for you.
I also have a full enclosure on wheels available for another $250.
