SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for management of Thurston County Food Bank’s administrative duties around marketing, communication, grants and development.
Primary responsibilities include donor cultivation and management, oversite of the organization's donor database, monthly reports, fund transfers, and compiling financial and other information as needed for planning and funding sources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor cash handling activities to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local program standards, appropriate laws and food bank policies.
Oversee the organizations grant-seeking activities including research, attending bidders conferences to help determine the direction of potential grant opportunities, leading the grant proposal process, writing, and submitting the grant.
Plan and execute special events including fundraising campaigns.
Implement and execute annual fundraising plan to meet fundraising goals
Work with the CEO to create the organization’s development and advancement plans to meet the financial goals of the organization.
Manage donor portfolios, build and maintain relationships.
Manage TCFB's branding and external communication.
Provide leadership to the development team and work related to development
Manage grant files, contract files, tracking funding restrictions and donor intent.
Supports book keeping functions including but not limited to account receivable with focus on individual giving and grant income.
Prepare reports as required by the CEO and funding sources in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor TCFB monetary donations and ensure donations are solicited, accepted and recognized in compliance with Food Bank standards.
Support staff and volunteers working with donor database.
Serve as an active member of the Food bank staff, including participation at community meetings, fund raising events and in other planning activities.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to work with individuals of varying socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Ability to supervise project staff
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to interpret and carry out Federal, State, and local program standards
Ability to understand and apply the philosophy and mission of the Thurston County Food Bank
Ability to maintain flexible work hours to accommodate meeting schedules, staff trainings, and other or agency related activities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in social services, or like job related experience
Managed combined grants in excess of one million dollars.
One year supervisory experience.
Computer literacy including use of word processing, database, and accounting software
Washington State Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Salary & Benefits: $39.

00 - $53.
99 full salary range (svc yr based), 40 hours/week.

Work Location: This position will work out of our Tumwater Warehouse Distribution Center located at 2260 Mottman Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512-6230.
