This is a 1998 Bourgeois 12-Fret Martin Simpson Signature guitar in good condition.
This Bourgeois Martin Simpson Model was a collaboration between fingerstyle master Martin Simpson and luthier Dana Bourgeois, made by Dana Bourgeois during the 'Pre-Pantheon' era.
It is superb in DADGAD and other dropped tunings.
The idea was a fingerstyle 12 fret slope D that would provide power missing in many fingerstyle instruments and also work well for strumming and flatpicking.
The guitar has a resonant, responsive, balanced sound with plenty of volume.
It has a deep cut-a-way for maximum access to upper frets.
The bass is clear, it is tonally responsive across the strings with sweet clear trebles.
The guitar has some dings/dents from use and is priced accordingly.
The most significant of these are shown.
There is an expertly repaired and cleated center seam separation from the bridge down the lower bout.
This was repaired by a luthier to stabilize and reinforce (see pics).
It plays well, is structurally intact, with no issues with the neck, bracing, or any evidence of low humidity exposure.
There is minimal fret wear and plenty of saddle height left.
It is set up with low action.
