Please Note: The starting salary offer will be determined based on the successful candidates’ qualifications within the budgeted salary range of $60,000 - $75,000 annually.
However, there is ability for longevity growth and progression in salary for the individual once employed.
Hybrid: Our physical office is in Olympia WA.
We offer flexible work schedules and this is a hybrid position where most of the work allows for telework.

What this job is about: As the Data Sharing and Compliance Specialist, you'll be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of data sharing agreements within OFM and affiliate agencies.
This involves auditing, closing out data sharing agreements, drafting new agreements, and maintaining comprehensive data sharing inventories.
In this role, you'll have the ability to control Data Sharing compliance related activities, the implementation of data sharing recommendations and training and provide best practices.
Your expertise will influence our policies, procedures and processes that affect all divisions related to data sharing, auditing compliance and data sharing obligations.

Duties What you’ll do: Conduct regular audits of existing data sharing agreements to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement.
Update agreements as relevant laws and regulations affecting data sharing change.
Collaborate with legal and business stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions in data sharing agreements.
Partner with Contracts team to provide provisions relevant to contractor agreements for privacy, security and data sharing.
Manage obtaining, signing and tracking Non-Disclosure Agreements.
Implement a systematic record-keeping process to track the entire lifecycle of each agreement, including termination and data deletion.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, IT, and business units, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with data sharing objectives.
Provide guidance and best practices while facilitating communication and collaboration between internal teams and external parties involved in data sharing agreements.
Participate on the Privacy Champions and in the Data Sharing Subcommittee.
Manage the timely and proper closure of data sharing agreements, including documentation of the termination process, proof of data deletion and archiving relevant records.
Assist the Public Records Officer with receiving, processing, and tracking all public disclosure requests made to the agency, complete tasks necessary to properly respond to public disclosure requests, and serve as backup when the Public Records Officer is not available.
Support OFM’s Records Officer in the implementation and ongoing management of OFM’s Record Program.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate degree in public administration, data governance, data science privacy, paralegal or other related field.
Please Note: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year for year, for the required education.
Two years of professional experience with data governance, data sharing agreements, or other related subject matter.
Experience with conducting non-financial compliance audits.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with managing and drafting data sharing agreements.
Experience understanding data classification and identifying data fields for data sharing agreements.
Experience with leading projects.
Excellent research, analysis, communication and writing skills.
