Updated June 2, 2023.
We have two silkie chicks that we hatched out in our incubator on 3/1/24.
These are from our own rooster and hens.
The parents live with us here at our farmstead.
One of them is black, and the other appears to be buff.
These will be ready to go to a home this weekend with a brooder that is all set to go.
Remember, young chicks need heat and special food.

Sex is not guaranteed.
2) Please bring with you a means to transport them, for example a box.
3) These birds are all at least 1/2 siblings, so if you plan to breed silkies, you should plan to get a rooster or hens that are not related to the bird(s) you buy from us.
Avoid inbreeding.
About the Breed: Silkie chickens are a bantam breed, about 1/2 or less the size of a typical laying hen.
Their eggs are about 2/3 the size of a grocery store egg, and we tend to use them at a rate of 2:1 in recipes that call for eggs.
Although user experience will vary, our hens lay about 1 egg each per day from March through the end of October.
These are sweet, docile animals that will be gentle with children and easy to handle if interacted with from a young age.
