This Laurel is a cold-hardy and shade-tolerant cherry laurel.
It is a stellar option for creating a narrow evergreen privacy hedge in our climate.
Schip Laurel likes full-partial sun and tolerates many different soil types.
It's relatively quick growth makes it easy to maintain without much of a fuss.
The shrub can grow 30 inches per year to 5' diameter - 20' + tall, so it can rapidly produce a tall and dense screen for privacy but can also easily be kept to a small size and shape as desired.
In the spring, the Schip laurel produces attractive stalks of aromatic white flowers and berries attracting bees and birds.
