The Ocosta School District is now accepting applications for an Elementary Paraeducator.
The position is for 7 hrs/day, 7:45-3:15pm, Monday-Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be familiar with processing iReady testing and reporting.
Establish positive relationships with school students.
Aid teacher in managing care of autistic students.
Ability to work with body fluids.
Prepares specified learning materials or equipment for use in classroom.
Reports on learning or difficulties encountered by students to the certificated staff member.
Assists with test administration.
Scores objective tests according to procedures prescribed by certificated personnel.
Operates automated instructional equipment.
Ability to handle disruptions and behavior problems.
Reports learning or other difficulties encountered by students to the certificated staff.
Must be punctual and have good attendance.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
General Requirements:
Must be a quick learner with good math and computation skills.
Keyboarding experience required
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
Ability to get along with students, staff, and community.
Ability to stand for up to 1 hour continually.
Must have the ability to bend, squat, and stoop multiple times in an hour during the workday.
Ability to walk for several minutes continuously at any given time.
Ability to be a positive role model and always have a positive attitude toward students.
Computer and clerical skills as assessed by school administration, including the possible use of objective testing if determined appropriate by school administration.
Follow all district policies and procedures.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Interest in helping children with learning difficulties.
Patience with slow progress.
Accept personal responsibility for the care of school facilities, supplies, and equipment.
Work toward developing and maintaining, in oneself and in the students, proper attitudes, good work habits, and respect for the rights and properties of others.
Operate in accordance with district and campus regulations.
