The substitute teacher is in charge of the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher and is responsible for the delivery of the instructional program as well as to maintain the care, welfare, safety, and security of students.
Qualifications A valid Washington State Teaching or Substitute certificate If you do not hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate but have a Bachelor's degree, contact the McCleary School District at 360-495-3204 to learn about becoming an emergency substitute.
Must pass a criminal justice fingerprint/background check.
The applicant is responsible for the $84 fingerprint/background check fee Attributes Ability to establish relationships with students, parents, and community Ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds Ability to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive manner Ability to fluently read, speak, and write in the English language Pay and Benefits $175 for a full day $92.

McCleary School District works in partnership with EdJobsNW.
EdJobsNW staff process your application for substituting and will place you on the substitute list.
Once approved and placed on the substitute list you will be able to view and schedule jobs through our Aesop system.
You will receive payment for day(s) worked from the McCleary School District.
The pay period is from the 1st of the month through the 31st of the month, payable on the last working day of the following month.

) Examples of Duties Implement the teacher's written lesson plans.
Consult with site administration to resolve questions and/or concerns.
Teach scheduled classes.
Prepare a written summary of the work completed.
Make teacher and/or site administration aware of special situations or problems encountered.
Maintain proper control and discipline both inside and outside the classroom, including hallways, in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, human relationships between individuals involved in the learning processes and in accordance with district policy and procedure.
Maintain high standards and uphold the student conduct code.
Properly report misconduct to site administration.
Maintain supervisory control of students including but not limited to before and after school as well as classroom transitions.
Perform basic attendance functions and business services as required.
Comply with all building procedures and schedules.
Promote the proper use and care of school property.
Uphold Board policies and follow administrative procedures.
Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
Work cooperatively with site administration, staff, students, and families.
Follow directives of site administration including but not limited to substituting in another classroom during a preparation period, performing administrative tasks, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Guest teachers accepting long-term placements (11 days or more) are responsible for performing all responsibilities listed in items 1-10 above as well as those identified in the absent teacher's job description (as determined by each school district).
Maintain professional/business casual dress, appropriate to the guest employee placement.
Review the Guest Employee Guide for information regarding payment, discipline procedures, Absence Management (Aesop), school locations and calendars, and other pertinent topics.
Substitute teacher placement is on an on-call, as-needed basis as dictated by the daily needs of Oakville School District.
Be advised, there is no guarantee of placement on any given day and no ongoing expectation of placement.
