We are looking for a parttime assistant teacher/ floater to help develop small children in our preschool and toddler classrooms by easing them into organized education based on appropriate developmental practices.
You will help develop independence and self-help based on children's interests and needs.
An assistant teacher or floater must have a great love and patience for children.
Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and age-appropriate educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention.
The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.
This position wil require assisting in both of our classrooms and in the kitchen.
*Responsibilities*
* Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.
) to teach children ages 1-5
* Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
* Encourage children to interact with each other and build understanding, sympathy, and empathy
* Assist in nap and meal/snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times; help clean up afterward and assist with dishes
* Collaborate with other teachers
* Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standard
*Skills*
* Proven experience in childcare
* Excellent understanding of the support of young children
* Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
* Excellent communication and instructional skills
* Ability to act as a mediator between children
* Cool-tempered, friendly, nurturing, and reliable
* Certification in child CPR and first aid
* Negative TB test and have MMR shots
* High School Diploma or GED
* Ability to obtain STARS continued education training
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.
00 - $18.
00 per hour
