*Minimum Qualifications:* * Must be 21 years of age * AA in ECE or ECE Initial and Short Certificate required within 5 years of holding the position of lead teacher within the ECE Field.
* 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting * Current first aid and CPR certifications, Blood-borne Pathogens, and Food Handler’s certifications, TB test, Safe Sleep Certificate * Successful completion of a Portable Background Check through MERIT and DCYF fingerprint check.
* 30 Hours STARS Training * Basic computer proficiency * Be able to lift up to 50lb *Job Functions:* * Ability to manage a classroom while educating students and completing the curriculum goals and expectations * Assess each child’s learning needs through screening, observation, ongoing assessment and the development of individual learning plans.
* Establish a daily routine that includes time for small group and large group activities, encourages creative expression, and incorporates health and nutrition development as part of daily activities.
* Model appropriate and respectful behavior to the children and fellow staff.
* Work with parents to plan developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum that supports children’s learning styles and interests.
* Support children’s social and emotional development through positive child guidance approaches and the development of positive relationships in the classroom.
* Lead the classroom team that can include an Assistant Teacher, Classroom Aide and Family Support Specialist in collaboratively working with children and families.
Provide direction to staff as needed.
* Establish and maintain confidential, accurate and timely information on each child’s development and program participation.
Maintain confidentiality * Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a team.
* Demonstrated computer skills, organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks with a minimum of supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and flexibility in critical and adverse situations.
* Supervise children and maintain appropriate ratios ensuring their physical safety always.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $16.
