Description Make a Difference in the Court System! Be a Part of the Change! The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a Senior Web Developer to help design and build application software products that help courts provide equal access to court information.
Specifically, this position will work closely with the AOC Office of Court Innovation’s new Equity and Access Program to develop application software products that are usable and accessible to everyone, including persons with disabilities and persons with language access needs.
Therefore, knowledge of inclusive software application products is preferred.
This position will also serve as an internal subject matter expert to help inform improvements to AOC information technology standards, policies, and systems that support usability and accessibility for all users.
Reporting to an Information Technology Manager or equivalent, this is a senior level position that works independently and exercises decision-making responsibility commensurate with the high level of technical expertise required of the position.
Work products are expected to be of the highest quality, and utilized to review and evaluate the technical work products of lower level system integrators.
May perform lead worker duties if assigned in writing by Division Director.

POSITION DETAILS Job #: 2023-120 Status: Regular, Full-Time* Location: Olympia, Washington Salary: Range 72: $88,416 - $116,016 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State.

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.
Duties Collaborate with users and other partners to configure various AOC application software products to the requirements of the user community utilizing those software products.
This includes but is not limited to ensuring accessibility for users with disabilities and language access needs.
Work with the AOC’s Equity and Access Program to develop a usable and accessible self-help web portal to support equal access to justice for self-represented persons statewide.
Work with the AOC’s Equity and Access Program to develop a usable and accessible program website and e-learning site to support court education and outreach efforts.
Serve as an internal subject matter expert to help inform improvements to AOC information technology standards, policies, and systems that support usability and accessibility for all users.
Develop problem determination and resolution techniques and procedures.
May perform lead duties for a workgroup as designated in writing by Division Director.
Lead duties include overseeing daily staffing levels and operations, planning and balancing workload, providing basic training for assigned duties, instructing and monitoring work product and quality, maintaining leave calendar and approving routine leave requests, resolving procedure or workflow conflicts, providing input to supervisor regarding managerial issues, and informing the supervisor of needs, issues & concerns.
Performs other work as assigned.
Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, computer science OR closely allied field; AND Eight years (or see below) of experience working in a complex information technology environment including direct experience with a major systems integration effort.
A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Senior Web Developer (Senior System Integrator) may substitute for qualifications listed.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Expert knowledge of and ability to develop inclusive software application products that meet: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Section 508 Standards Usability principles, best practices, and standards Language access needs Ability to conduct usability testing including accessibility testing Demonstrated commitment to supporting equal access to justice Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services; communicate proficiently in written reports and deliver information through presentations with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services Knowledge of organizational business processes, computer applications, operating systems, and current technologies available to facilitate product & service delivery to customers Ability to learn new concepts and skills; absorb and retain new information General knowledge of the fundamentals of Enterprise Architecture Ability to expertly deploy knowledge and skills in a combination of the following technology and business areas: Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project Vue.
JS, Material Design Bootstrap, ColdFusion, IIS Web Server and SQL server Application programming fundamentals General business practices and procedures Knowledge and experience in Web Site Accessibilities or Methodologies and Software regarding web site accessibilities.
