WHAT WE OFFER: Paid time off and holiday pay One work site - no traveling from location to location Option for Medical, Dental/Vision Benefits for Full-Time employees Employee Assistance Program offered for insurance eligible employees SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cook is responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals to residents 3x’s daily and ensuring that the food prepared is fresh and nutritional.
She/he is responsible for ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES · Prepare, cook, and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, cultural and dietary needs as required by the residents and staff.
· Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus that reflect choice and preference and maintain accurate stock control.
· Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies.
· Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and in good working order.
· Carry out good food Management, temperature controls and HACCP documentation according to current Food Hygiene regulations.
· Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and adjacent dining area.
· Participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable.
TRANSPORTATION: Uses personal vehicle to travel to agency sites and non-agency locations.
COMMUNICATION: · Participates in staff meetings and in-services training.
· Consults with Facility Administrator when knowledge base in a given area needs to be expanded.
· Requests literature, in-service or orientation on a given topic.
· Reads communication book.
· Demonstrates accountability regarding equipment and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and LICENSURE: · Previous cooking or catering experience within a commercial or business setting.
· Food Hygiene Certified – or willingness to get certified.
· Valid First Aid and CPR Certification Meets health requirements, i.
e.
– COVID-19 vaccination and booster, flu vaccination, tb testing – per licensing requirements.
· Knowledge of environment safety and cleanliness standards.
· Valid Washington State Driver’s License required or the equivalent if residence in Washington is new.
· Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.
Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
