Timberland Regional Library is seeking a Finance Coordinator, who will be based out of the Service Center in Tumwater, WA.
The Finance Coordinator performs complex fiscal administrative work, identifies and completes a range of special work assignments, and oversees current and future fiscal processes and projects for the Finance Department.
This position conducts the reconciliation of revenue and expenditure accounts, coordinates a variety of systems, and serves as a link between Finance staff and branch and operational staff, ensuring that proper reporting and recordkeeping of assigned areas of expertise is maintained.

A coordinator is a subject matter expert who may provide direction to staff and works as a bridge between departments, employees, and daily functions.
This position is supervised by the Finance Administrator and reports to the Operations Director as part of a service-oriented team.

Daily work may be done remotely; travel within the district will be required at times.

Employees new to Timberland Regional Library typically start at step 1, 2 or 3 of the pay range, depending upon qualifications.
The Timberland Regional Library offers a Bilingual pay incentive for demonstrated fluency in the following languages: Spanish/Spanish Creole, American Sign Language, and in Thurston County only - Korean and Vietnamese.

Performs the monthly cash reconciliation and assists Finance Administrator in oversight of staff and activities performed in the Finance Department, to include payroll, benefits administration, invoicing, cash management, ledger development, fund auditing and budgeting.
Supports the compilation of monthly, annual and ad hoc reports to the Board of Trustees, State Auditor’s Office and other internal and external stakeholders.
Review and analyze executed contracts, special provisions, terms and associated documents for completeness and adherence with stated state and federal requirements and Timberland’s own policies, procedures and guidance.
Ensures payments are scheduled and issued in compliance with contract guidelines and required close-out documents have been obtained prior to issuance of final payments and/or retainage.
Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to support and maintain administrative processes such as the State Auditor’s Annual Report Filing, Department of Revenue’s Unclaimed Property Filing, monthly use tax process, surplus and inventory procedures.
Develop and support tracking systems for creating, editing, storing, monitoring, administering and managing new and existing Finance Department asset management and recordkeeping programs.
Assists in the evaluation, recommendation, development, and implementation of strategic plans, policies, procedures, and departmental goals and objectives.
Serves on applicable committees as a representative of Finance department and may provide administrative support during contract negotiation cycles.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Public Administration and experience working in an accounting, contract compliance administration or purchasing role to facilitate the purchase of goods and/or services.
Licenses, Certifications, and Special Requirements: A valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Must pass and maintain a criminal background check.
